Create New Variables

Create New Variables

The "Create New Variables" feature enables users to generate a variety of variables, including event flags, dummy variables, holiday indicators, and seasonality variables. Users can perform arithmetic operations and SQL actions to split variables by specific time periods.

Key functionalities include:

  • Manual Tab: Define variable names and formulas.
  • Event Flags: Create flags with designated dates.
  • Holidays: Select from predefined holidays.
  • Seasonality Variables: Choose from options based on uploaded data.
  • Smoothing Variables: Stabilize trends through averaging.
After creating all variables—whether manually, through event flags, holidays, or seasonality—users must click the Generate Variables button located at the bottom right of the screen to finalize them.

For more detailed information on each functionality, please refer to the relevant sections in the Input Module of the user manual.
