Financial Inputs: Spend Data Handling

Financial Inputs: Spend Data Handling

Overview

After completing data classification, users will access the financial input screen. This step is optional but plays a crucial role in calculating ROI and response curves post-modeling. While uploading spending data is not mandatory, it is highly recommended.

Uploading Spending Data

  • Scope: Users can upload spending data only for variables classified in the incremental data classification bucket.

Selecting Dimensions and Periodicity

  • Default Settings: The system automatically selects the lowest dimension and yearly periodicity for all variables.
  • Adjusting Settings: Users can change these settings by selecting the appropriate radio buttons for periodicity and dimensions based on available data.

Adjusting Periodicity and Dimensions

  • Selection Options: If the data has different periodicity or dimension levels (e.g., daily, monthly), select the relevant option.
  • Applying Changes: To apply the same dimension and periodicity to all variables, use the dropdown menu at the top and click "Apply to All." Individual variables can still be modified as needed.

Exporting the Template

  • Generating Excel File: Click "Export Template" to create an Excel file based on the selections. If there are multiple periodicities or dimensions, the exported file will include several sheets (e.g., market_yearly, brand_yearly).

Resetting Selections

  • Resetting Individual Variables: Use the "Reset" option next to a variable to clear its selections if no spend data is available.
  • Resetting All Variables: Click "Reset All" to remove selections for all variables.

Handling Previously Uploaded Spends

  • Users who uploaded spending data in the initial data cube upload must still provide spends in this step. For example, if Facebook impressions, clicks, and spends were uploaded together, spend values for each must be manually added to the export file, as there is currently no tagging for these variables.

Uploading Spends

  • Completing the Template: After entering spend data in the Excel template, upload it back to the system. A successful upload will change the color band next to each variable from amber to green.

Reviewing Spends

  • Click "Review Spends" at the bottom of the screen to confirm the accuracy of the spend aggregations.

This guide ensures that users can effectively navigate the financial input screen and manage their spending data accurately.
